Dutieso Serve as a Senior Engineer providing technical guidance to a team of Electronics /Mechanical Engineers and Technicians on projects in support of Product Manager Defense Communications and Army Transmissions Systems (PM DCATS)o Serve as a technical expert for Satellite/ Digital Communication Systems that require the solution of design, installation, de-installation, and operational problems.o Utilize the Wideband Configuration Management System (WCMS) for site configuration and document management.o Monitor Project timelines and updates during installations and as required during site surveys.o Review contractor submissions of shop drawings, technical data, schedules, and layout to ensure that they are following contractspecifications.o Discuss current and projected development projects with internal and external stakeholders to support mission goalsRequirements Conditions of Employmento Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.o Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.o This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position ( Foundational) Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.o This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 50% of the time(Business Travel)o Obtain and Maintain Secret Clearance.o This position requires a pre-employment physical.o The incumbent MAY be required to go TDY to the OCONUS for a period of time that requires vaccinations to be administered.o This position requires an Official Passport with no travel restrictions, or the incumbent must be able to obtain a passport with no travel restrictions Qualifications Who May Apply:

(a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronicsOR BCombination of Education and
Experience:
College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineeringThe adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:

Specialized Experience :
1).Providing support for the development or improvements of SATCOM systems such as strategic Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS), earth terminal for organization; AND 2)Developing system upgrades for existing/new Earth Terminal Complexes (ETCs) and Technical Control Facilities (TCFs); AND 3)Monitoring timelines of projects, during installation and/or site surveys of Communication SystemsYou will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
