### Summary
THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 3 MONTHS (This may be extended) - The initial cut-off date for referral consideration is October 31st, 2018. After this date, referrals will be pulled as vacancies occur.

### Responsibilities
Lays out and cuts rubber, foam, non-skid matting or other floor covering, rubber insulation and vent gaskets for shelters and vans.
Fabricates items such as Black out curtains, canvas bags, straps, handles, bumper pads and gaskets.
Machine sews articles to replace broken seam stitches or to mend torn material.
Uses adhesives, solvents, and volatile chemicals on a daily basis to apply rubber and foam gasketing and insulation.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Fabric Worker without more than normal supervision.
I have the ability to perform common fabric work. I can modify and or repair standard types of fabric and materials of moderate complexity; curtains, bags, straps, cases, canopies, covers, fasteners and other related items, work with common fabrics; materials, etc. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey - level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - FAILURE TO MEET THIS SCREEN OUT ELEMENT WILL RESULT IN AN INELIGIBLE RATING.
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision
Worker frequently lifts parts and industrial materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Occasionally they may lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, with the aid of mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers. Considerable bending and stretching is required when laying out and cutting material and worker is required to climb onto worktable and work on hands and knees when fabricating large articles. Considerable bending, stretching, stooping and kneeling is required when installing floor and ceiling coverings. Occasionally worker must lie on back to install gasketing and other materials and work in other awkward positions. Worker must use care to practice proper, bending and lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow safety regulations.
Worker usually works in a shop environment or inside shelters and vans that are adequately heated, ventilated and lighted. They are sometimes required to work in small, dark, confined spaces or outside. They are also subject to dust and lint from fabrics, fumes and odors from adhesives, solvents and cleaners and noise from industrial machines and other industrial processes. Incumbent is required to wear safety clothing and Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) according to the shop assigned and the safety regulations for that shop. PPE may include but is not limited to: safety shoes, cut gloves, safety glasses, rubber gloves, hearing protection and respirators. Enrollment in the Hearing Conservation and Respiratory Protection program. May be required depending on the assigned duties. May occasionally have to use ladder, scaffolding, and platforms, using proper safety devices and harness.

THIS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE FILLED USING DIRECT-HIRE AUTHORITY FOR DOMESTIC DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL BASE (DIB) FACILITIES AND THE MAJOR RANGE AND TEST FACILITIES BASE (MRTFB) IN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE.

Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
