Counselor Specialist - Callicoon NY

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION:


Supervises Dorm Support Specialists as directed; may assume additional responsibilities or serve as the Acting Residential Counselor or Acting Senior Residential Counselor in their absence.


RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Maintains a safe and clean dorm environment.


  • Provides quality supervision to students in the dormitory.


  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of incident and shift reports.


  • Ensures the physical security of the dorm area and reports concerns to the Residential Counselor or Senior Residential Counselor.??


  • Maintains adequate levels of inventory per established department reorder points and proactively orders supplies to meet department requirement.


  • Active member on case management and career management teams to ensure student success in the program.


  • Complete ESP and CSS evaluations for residential area.


  • Initiates work orders to make necessary repairs as required and follows-up with maintenance to ensure completion.


  • May transport students to and from Center.


  • In the absence of the Residential Counselor or Senior Residential Counselor, will be responsible to coordinate staff coverage to ensure student areas are supervised and that staff adhere to rest and meal break requirements.


  • Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.


  • Motivates and manages staff to work effectively, creates a supportive work environment and recognizes staff accomplishments.


  • Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.


  • Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.


  • Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.


  • Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities. Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.


  • Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
