US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of a(n) Mason without more than normal supervision. Abilities include:
1) maintaining, repairing, altering, and constructing exterior and interior surfaces and structures built of a variety of brick, block, and stone; AND (2) applying sheet metal, carpentry, and roofing trade techniques and procedures in the maintenance and repair of structures. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentDexterity and SafetyKnowledge of MaterialsMeasurement and LayoutTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) PHYSICAL EFFORT The incumbent is required to lift items up to 50 pounds and, occasionally, up to 100 pounds. Works from ladders, scaffolds, or platforms. Considerable walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, and reaching are required. Work can be performed in cramped and awkward positions. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is done indoors as well as outdoors in all types of weather. Protective devices must be worn when required. Subject to noise and vibration from shop equipment, as well as cuts, bruises, falls, and burns. Subject to potential exposure to asbestos containing material (ACM) while performing roof maintenance and repair.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
