General Equipment Mechanic Leader

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to lead or supervise the full range of tasks performed by General Equipment Mechanics. I have the ability to perform common tasks including:
Obtaining needed information or decisions from supervisors on problems that arise; AND working in the sheet metal, painting, and equipment cleaning trades; AND assisting and assigning complex workload to lower graded employees - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility to Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (Theoretical, precise, artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Lifts objects from moderate to heavy weights. Climbs ladders, scaffolds, and may work from platforms or high reach equipment. May work in cramped and awkward positions and have to reach, bend, and lift while using tools, parts and/or equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions. Subject to exposure to dust and dirt, grease, fumes, noise, etc. May also be subject to cuts, burns, bruises, electrical shocks, etc. Safety equipment is provided to minimize hazards.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
